Natchaug Hospital Earns Praise During Joint Commission Audit

After undergoing a rigorous on-site survey, Natchaug Hospital has received
accreditation from The Joint Commission for meeting national standards in health
care quality and safety. Accreditation was awarded in both the areas of Behavior
Health Care and Hospitals.

Informal remarks by the
surveyors noted the passion Natchaug staff exhibit in their client care, their
engagement and knowledge about each client, and their involvement with families.
Natchaug’s unique Nursing Assessment was noted as the best the surveyors have
seen. Natchaug’s use of technology to enhance communication and strengthen
safety was commended, and Natchaug’s treatment plans were seen as “excellent”.
Staff were especially pleased to hear the surveyors comment on Natchaug’s
culture of caring, teamwork and excellence in every interaction.
Natchaug Hospital voluntarily
participates in this triennial comprehensive assessment as one of its many
commitments to ensuring continuous quality improvement. The official results of
the formal report, which will include identified opportunities for improvements,
